mdPV Privacy Policy

mdPV ("the app") is a Markdown preview and editing app for macOS. We respect your privacy. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.

1. Documents you open

mdPV reads only the files you explicitly open through File ▸ Open, double-click, drag-and-drop onto the app, or Finder Quick Look. The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox and does not have access to any other files. Document contents stay on your Mac and are never sent to us or to any third party.

2. Network use

The only network requests the app initiates are to Apple's StoreKit servers, to (a) display the price of the "Unlock Editing" in-app purchase, (b) complete that purchase, and (c) restore previous purchases. These requests are made by Apple's frameworks; we do not operate the servers and we do not see the requests.

If a Markdown document you open references a remote image URL, the rendering library will fetch that image directly from the host you chose to reference. mdPV does not analyse, log, or transmit those URLs.

3. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

mdPV contains no analytics, telemetry, or advertising SDKs. No tracking identifiers are used. No data is shared with data brokers.

4. Accounts

mdPV has no account system. We do not ask for, store, or process any personal information. Restoring an in-app purchase uses your Apple Account directly and is handled by Apple.

5. Children

mdPV is rated 4+ and does not direct content to or knowingly collect data from children. Because no data is collected, no special provisions are required under COPPA or similar regulations.

6. Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
